The plot thickens in Douglaston with play ‘Murder on the Nile’

DOUGLASTON — Mystery, intrigue, love, greed and jealousy: All the classic ingredients for a good old whodunit are in the mix at Theatre a la Carte’s latest production, Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Nile,” now playing at the Community Church of Douglaston.

Running through May 2 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., “Murder on the Nile” tells the story of mysterious murders on a Nile River paddleboat playing host to a wealthy woman and her new husband on their honeymoon — along with her guardian, his jilted lover, a nasty old rich lady, a German with a grudge and, naturally, the maid.

Directed by Linda Hanson, the production stars Dan Bubbeo, John Emro, Melissa Gordon, Patrick Lloyd, Kelly Ronayne, Marionanne Rourke, Lori Santopetro, Dean Schildkraut, Eugene Sullivan and Judy Vincent.

Tickets are $14 or $12 for senior citizens, children under age 12 or mail orders. A paid reservation gets you the best available seat in the house, but general admission seating can also be reserved by calling 718-631-4092 or e-mailing [email protected]. You may also contact them for a mail-in order form.

The Community Church of Douglaston is located at 39-50 Douglaston Parkway.
