An open letter to state Sen. Frank Padavan:
I am writing in response to your March 11 letter concerning the removal of questionable signs reading “Mortgage Modification” that have been posted from Hillside Avenue to the Grand Central Parkway on 168th Street and 168th Place.
On March 16, Agents Douglass and Donald of the city Sanitation Department’s Enforcement Division inspected the area. Nine posters reading “Mortgage Modification” were sighted and removed. An investigation is being conducted by the Enforcement Division to identify the party responsible for affixing these posters to utility poles and other fixtures.
Once the party is identified, a notice of violation will be issued to it for each poster the Enforcement Division has sighted and removed.
Members of the Enforcement Division will continue to monitor the area and notices of violation will be issued if violations of the Sanitation Code are observed.
