Man, 55, assaulted and robbed in Astoria: Cops

ASTORIA — Police were searching for a 6-foot-2-inch Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s who is wanted in connection with a Monday armed robbery in Astoria.

The man approached a 55-year-old man in front of 27-17 23rd Ave., pushed him onto a driveway and displayed a black firearm, according to police.

He then assaulted him and fled with the wallet of the victim, who was not seriously injured.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
