Astoria man steals $1K worth of property: DA

ASTORIA — A 25-year-old Astoria man was arrested after he allegedly robbed another man at 14th Street and 31st Avenue April 25, the Queens district attorney said.

James Peeples, who lives on Astoria Boulevard, was arraigned before Queens Criminal Court Judge Elisa Koenderman on robbery and grand larceny charges, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant will return to court May 21, the DA said.

The defendant is alleged to have approached the victim with another unapprehended man, pointed a gun at him and robbed him as the other suspect punched him, Brown said. They are accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of property, including an iPhone and cash, the DA said.
