Victim hit with bat receives contusion: DA

ROSEDALE — A 51-year-old Rosedale man was arrested after he allegedly struck another man with a baseball bat in Rosedale, the Queens district attorney said.

Harry Fields, of 234-20 134th Road in Rosedale, was arraigned May 3 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Deborah Stevens Modica on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, Queens DA Richard Brown said. The defendant, who was released on his own recognizance, will return to court May 18, the DA said.

Fields is alleged to have hit the victim with the bat at his home, causing a deltoid contusion, bruising and swelling, the DA said.

The defendant allegedly told police, “I had the bat in my hand. I swung and hit him,” according to the criminal complaint.
