Shoplifter hit store manager with pole: DA

SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — A Springfield Gardens woman was arrested earlier this month after she allegedly tried to pocket a Spider-Man toy and three pieces of chocolate at a Conway department store on Jamaica Avenue and proceeded to hit the shop manager in the head with a metal pole when he apprehended her, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Dulsey Robinson, 50, was charged with assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment after she allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for the toy and candy, Brown said.

When the 27-year-old manager stopped Robinson as she tried to leave the store, Robinson allegedly became upset, grabbed a metal rod and struck the employee in the head, causing bleeding and substantial pain, according to the DA.
