Qns. Village teen stole, sold man’s sneakers: DA

QUEENS VILLAGE — A Queens Village teenager was charged with allegedly stealing sneakers and a cell phone from a man whom he had been riding a public bus with last month, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Angel Rosario, 17, followed the victim as he exited a public bus at the intersection of Springfield Boulevard and 91st Avenue in Richmond Hill and proceeded to pin the complainant’s arms behind his back Dec. 24, the DA said. Another man with Rosario took the victim’s shoes while Rosario removed the man’s cell phone from his pocket, according to the DA.

Rosario told police his friend asked him to help steal the victim’s shoes, which turned out to be too small for the friend to wear, the DA said. The Queens Village teenager sold the cell phone for $50, the DA said.
