Fight becomes physical between woman, man: DA

FRESH MEADOWS — A man and woman were both arraigned on assault and harassment charges after the two allegedly attacked each other during a dispute in a Fresh Meadows apartment, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Dave Hodges, 20, of 65-85 162nd St. in Fresh Meadows, was released on his own recognizance after being arraigned on assault and harassment charges July 24 before Queens Criminal Court Judge William Harrington, the spokeswoman said.

Meanwhile, Jessica Fenner, 28, of 564 Duryea Ave. in Uniondale, N.Y., was also charged with assault and harassment before Harrington July 24 for allegedly attacking Hodges. She was also released on her own recognizance.

It was unclear what the relationship was between the two.

At around 11 a.m. July 23, Hodges allegedly got into a verbal dispute with Fenner in his apartment building when he slapped her in the face with an open hand, knocking off her glasses and causing bruising, redness and swelling to the bridge of her nose, according to the criminal complaint.

Hodges allegedly put a blanket over Fenner’s body to restrain her and then struck her repeatedly in the head, the complaint said.

Fenner was charged with allegedly slapping Hodges with her open hands on his face, neck and chest and scratching his face, neck and chest with her fingernails, the complaint said.

She allegedly caused scratches, bruising, redness and swelling to Hodges’ face neck and chest and bleeding to his left ear, the complaint said.

The two are next scheduled to appear in court Sept. 21, the spokeswoman said.
