Unlicensed gun, ammo brought into JFK: DA

JAMAICA — A 42-year-old Florida man was arrested after he allegedly brought a gun to John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Queens district attorney said.

Billy Sherrod of Florida was arraigned Aug. 24 in Queens Criminal Court on a criminal possession of a weapon charge, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

The defendant, who will return to court Sept. 8, is alleged to have brought a pistol, two loaded magazines and a box of 9mm ammunition to the check-in gate at JFK Airport, the DA said.

He did not possess a valid state pistol license, the DA said.
