City worker stole $50K in computer goods: DOI

KEW GARDENS — A city school worker has been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment, the city Department of Investigation said Tuesday.

A investigation into Cornelius Schulman, 51, a computer service technician in the Division of Instructional and Information Technology, found that he stole nearly $50,000 worth of computer equipment from city schools, the DOI said. Schulman allegedly admitted to selling the goods on eBay, according to the DOI.

He was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, the DOI said.
