The Flushing Old Navy clothing store is making a crosstown move.

In a relocation that will position it near a slew of new, popular retailers, the department store will move from its location near Macy’s on Roosevelt Avenue to Sky View Center.

The center is the 800,000-square-foot retail component of Sky View Parc, a large-scale mixed-use development at 40-24 College Point Blvd.

The 16,260-square-foot shop will open there in early November, according to a Sky View Center representative, and workers at the existing store are familiar with the plan.

“We’re moving there later this fall, yes,” an employee at the store said. “I don’t know exactly why we’re moving there, but it’s a better business decision.”

The employee did not say what will become of the large Roosevelt Avenue location at the crossroads of downtown Flushing.

The new center is awaiting the opening of a 32,530-square-foot Bed Bath & Beyond store in early November, the Sky View representative said.

A 160,000-square-foot Target store opened its doors in Sky View Center Oct. 6, a day before a 30,000-square-foot Marshall’s began to sell its discount clothing there.

The retailers join Best Buy, BJ’s Wholesale Club and a number of other new stores in the booming commercial component of the residential and retail project.

Old Navy’s parent company, Gap Inc., did not reply to a request for comment.

The residential part of the Sky View Parc project is also steadily filling up, the Sky View representative said.

“At Sky View Parc, select closings have already began and the development continues to attract a large numbers of buyers, with 70 percent of the 169 Tower 3 residential units already under contract and 35 percent of Tower 1 under contract,” the representative said via e-mail.
