Man who double-parked hits police officer: DA

JAMAICA — An upstate man was arrested two weeks ago for allegedly striking a police officer during a confrontation, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Patrick Rogers, 51, of Chester, N.Y., was arraigned Oct. 6 on obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and double-parking charges, according to the DA’s office.

An officer found Rogers’ Lexus stopped in the lane of traffic on Baisley Boulevard near 155th Street Oct. 4 and turned on the siren to his marked vehicle, the criminal complaint said. Rogers allegedly got out of his car, refused to comply with the officer’s orders to remain where he was and struck the officer, according to the criminal complaint.
