Fingerprints lead cops to Rosedale burglar: Post

ROSEDALE — Fingerprints on a flashlight left at the scene of a crime in Rosedale led New York Police Department officers to arrest alleged burglar Richard Santiago, The New York Post reported.

Santiago allegedly entered a residence on 256th Street near 149th Road at 11:45 a.m. July 16, the Post said. A woman who heard a window open ran to the basement, then exited the house and called the police, the Post said. When she returned, she found items had been taken from her mother’s jewelry box, as had two cell phones, a laptop, a digital camera, a video recorder and a set of car keys, the Post said.

Santiago has previously been in jail twice for criminal possession of stolen property, the Post said.
