Avella a breath of fresh air after Padavan’s reign

After reading the comments of the weepers and apologists regarding state Sen. Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose), I would like to thank those residents of our community who, like me, recognized the need for transformative change in electing former City Councilman Tony Avella.

He need not fill anyone’s shoes but his own. He will make his own mark in working for all of his constituents without regard to gender or sexual orientation, among other factors — something Padavan unwisely dismissed and was held accountable for this time. The fact that he seemed clueless to the changing demographics of his constituents was his Achilles’ heel.

Evidently, his loss demonstrates that most of us will not miss him and are happy to move on with Avella. Lest one find me biased, I assure you I will not vote for Avella again if he fails to keep his promises or attempts to remain in office for 38 years as well.
