Those looking to outfit their homes and those of their loved ones this holiday season will have to go no further than Sky View Center in Flushing, where a new Bed Bath & Beyond opened Friday.

The 32,000-square-foot store, at 40-24 College Point Blvd. in the 800,000-square-foot retail portion of the Sky View Parc mixed-use development, features home furnishings, bedding, small appliances, health and beauty items and more.

“At Bed Bath & Beyond, we are committed to providing exceptional customer service, a broad and deep assortment and great value to our customers,” the company’s CEO, Steven Temares, said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing these traditions in Flushing.”

The Flushing store is the 62nd to open in New York. There are two other Queens locations — one each in Rego Park and East Elmhurst.

Old Navy also completed a crosstown move in November, hosting the grand opening of a brand-new 16,260-square-foot shop in the rapidly filling Sky View Center Nov. 20.

An employee at the new location said the move from the former digs near Macy’s on Roosevelt Avenue has proven to be advantageous so far.

“It was primarily a business move to close the old store and open up this one,” the employee said. “It’s pretty good, so far so good. Business is a little down, but it’s picking up for the holidays.”

Marshall’s and Target both opened their doors in Sky View Center in October. Applebee’s and Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurants are slated to open there this month, while Payless ShoeSource is on track to open its doors in January 2011. Famous Footwear and Five Guys Burgers and Fries are set to open at Sky View in spring 2011, while Golden Jaguar restaurant and Sky Foods supermarket plan to open next summer.

“This is an exciting time for Sky View Center as we continue to welcome new retailers to our already bustling center,” Michael Dana, president of the center’s owner and developer, Onex Real Estate Partners, said in a statement.
