Long Is. man assaulted Baysider with weapon: DA

BAYSIDE — A Long Island man was charged last week with assaulting a man inside a Bayside home, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Frank Connelly, 40, of 12 Willow Place in Greenvale, L.I., allegedly punched a male victim in the face inside 36-06 Kennedy St. in Bayside between 1:45 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. Jan. 19, according to the criminal complaint.

When the man fell to the ground, Connelly then allegedly picked up a construction level and struck the man in the back of the head with it, the complaint said.

Connelly was arraigned Jan. 19 on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment before Queens Criminal Court Judge Lenora Gerald, who released Connelly on his own recognizance, the spokeswoman said.
