Work complete on TimesLedger’s Bayside office
By Nathan Duke

TimesLedger Newspapers has moved into new offices on the same floor at its longtime Bayside headquarters at 41-02 Bell Blvd. following a two-month renovation.

The chain, which has 14 weekly papers and covers the entire borough of Queens, began construction on the space in early December. The editorial and sales staffs continued to work on the floor during the reconstruction. The new offices opened Feb. 1.

As part of the project, the newspaper’s phone system and other technology were upgraded.

The TimesLedger phone numbers have changed, but the e-mail addresses and fax numbers remain the same.

The new telephone number for the Editorial Department is 718-260-4545, while the new number for display advertising sales is 718-260-4560. The Editorial fax is still 718-224-2934 and the Sales Department fax is 718-224-5821.

News Corp., owned by Rupert Murdoch, bought the Queens newspaper chain in 2007 as part of its Community Newspaper Group. CNG also includes the Bronx Times, Brooklyn’s Courier-Life Newspapers, the Brooklyn Paper and Caribbean Life.

TimesLedger’s classified, production and art departments moved to CNG’s new headquarters at 1 MetroTech Center in Brooklyn in April 2008, which set the stage for the renovation to make better use of the remaining space in Bayside.

TimesLedger has been on Bell Boulevard since 1993, when it moved from a smaller location on 41st Avenue.

The chain’s papers include the Bayside Times, Little Neck Ledger, Whitestone Times, Flushing Times, Laurelton Times, Jamaica Times, Queens Village Times, Jackson Heights Times, Fresh Meadows Times, Astoria Times, Ridgewood Ledger, Howard Beach Times, Richmond Hill Times and Forest Hills Ledger.

The paper appears online at YourNabe.com.
