Cop with family in boro crashes into Tiffany’s

MANHATTAN — An allegedly drunk, off-duty NYPD officer drove into Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue storefront after colliding with a private garbage truck, injuring himself and two passengers last week, police said.

Raphael Ospina, 27, whose family lives in Fresh Meadows, was arrested and suspended without pay after the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.

Ospina and his two passengers were taken to Bellevue Hospital and have since been released, police said.

Police said Ospina’s vehicle crashed into the sanitation truck that was making a left onto Fifth Avenue from East 57th Street and proceeded to slam into the iconic jewelry store.
