JAMAICA — The NYPD is asking for information from the public about a string of robberies at shops in Jamaica.
Police said eight similar burglaries occurred in the 103rd and 113th precincts in January.
Two male suspects wearing masks, hats and gloves and displaying a firearm stole cash from a shop at 160-07 107th Ave. in Jamaica Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Five men wearing masks and displaying a gun ran away with cash from a store at 111-77 157th Street in Jamaica Jan. 24 at 5:35 p.m.
Four males flashed a firearm to pocket cash from 158-24 110th Ave. in Jamaica Jan. 23 at 9:40 p.m. On Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m., five male suspects displayed two guns and ran away with cash from a commercial establishment at 109-18 Sutphin Blvd. in Jamaica.
Three men entered 108-55 157th St. in Jamaica and demanded cash while waving a firearm at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 17. Again, three men dashed away with cash from a shop at 158-24 110th Ave. in Jamaica after showing a gun.
Three men pocketed cash from a grocery store at 107-01 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Jamaica after displaying a silver firearm at 6:52 p.m. Jan. 10.
Another three males made away with cash from another grocery store at 110-02 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Jamaica at 5:18 p.m. Jan. 6.
Police said all the suspects were black and between the ages of 16 and 20. They wore hooded sweatshirts, bandana masks and gloves.
