Jamaica man charged in upstate jewelry theft

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — A Jamaica man was arrested last Thursday by upstate police for his alleged part in a jewelry store robbery, investigators said.

Nathaniel Morris, 22, of Jamaica, was charged by Town of Poughkeepsie police with grand larceny along with Ansumana Bility, according to investigators.

Bility went into a jewelry store in the Arlington section of Poughkeepsie and asked to see a $26,400 Rolex watch, police said.

He then ran out of the store and into a getaway car that was driven by Morris, according to investigators.

Officers found the car on Route 84 roughly 25 minutes later and discovered Bility hiding in the back seat covered with a jacket, according to police.

Both suspects were held on $50,000 bail in a Dutchess County jail, police said.
