Woman assaulted with eggs, garbage can: DA

ASTORIA — An Astoria woman was arraigned on assault and harassment charges after she allegedly threw eggs at her neighbor and hit her with a garbage can full of glass bottles, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Shafique Fergerson, 21, of 50-29 Broadway in Astoria, allegedly threw the eggs at her neighbor and her neighbor’s door around 6 p.m. March 22, according to the criminal complaint.

Fergerson also allegedly picked up a bag of garbage containing glass bottles and hit her neighbor with it, leaving her neighbor in pain, bruising to her lip and a chipped tooth, the complaint said.

Fergerson was arraigned March 23 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Elisa Koenderman, who released her on her own recognizance, the spokeswoman said.

Fergerson is next expected to appear in court May 9, the spokeswoman said.
