Brooklyn trio found guilty in stabbing slay

LONG ISLAND CITY — Three Brooklyn men were convicted Friday of a stabbing death during a fight outside a strip club, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Anthony A. Matos, 34; his brother, Jason Matos, 33; and Lee Taylor, 40, all from Brooklyn, have been held without bail till their sentencing April 28, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

Anthony Matos was convicted on manslaughter and his co-defendants were convicted of gang assault following a nearly four-week jury trial, the DA said.

On June 20, 2007, the three were at the Gentlemen’s Club, at 34-48 Steinway St., when an argument broke out and bouncers ejected a posse who were friendly with the victim, Jason Brown, from the strip joint, according to DA Brown.

Although the bouncers told the three Brooklyn men and others to stay inside the club while Jason Brown’s group left, they exited through emergency doors and confronted Jason Brown and his friends, the DA said.

A large melee broke out and the Brooklyn trio allegedly beat up Jason Brown, the DA said.

Anthony Matos later confessed that he stabbed Jason Brown, the DA said.
