Forest Hills artist Kyle McCoy pulled back the curtain Friday on his idiosyncratic labor of love: a massive recreation of an army of characters from the long-running television show “The Simpsons” and the show’s setting, the fictional city of Springfield.
Rendered in pixelated style from about 140,000 colored beads, the 40-square-foot "Project Springfield" was unveiled at at a party McCoy held at his Forest Hills home.
“I questioned the time and effort put into this project,” he said to the small crowd of well-dressed friends in his living room, where he unveiled his creation. “There were so many other things I could have been doing … but now I know it was worth it.”
