High school pupil, 17, stabbed two people: DA

ELMHURST — Kevin Torres, 17, was arraigned last week on charges that he stabbed two victims at Newtown High School in late March, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.

Torres allegedly stabbed one victim with a sharp object but did not penetrate the victim’s jacket, and then turned his weapon on another victim who tried to help, said the DA’s office.

The second victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a stab wound on his arm, the DA’s office said. Torres was charges with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Stabbed two "victims"? I hate how the news simplifies everything for the public and surveilance at the High School obviously showed he was attacked by these 2 "victim/gang members" before he tried defending himself. Show the tape and let the public decide for themselves what really goes on in these schools before making up catchy headlines.

Yes "allegedly" but the story isn't even correct. It was gang related and everybody in the scene including the "two victims" were gang related. They were in opposite sides. The "victims" attacked first. The school should've ran the two videos from two different cameras from two different angles in that hallway. But fortunately for the "victims" this took place in the staircase where there was no camera. Therefore after Torres fled, the multiple people that attacked him(3 or 4 ) stayed behind and of course to cover themselves, accused it all on Torres. Injustice? Yes. Does the truth matter now? No. But it just goes to show that you can't believe everything the media says due to the fact that they weren't there. But of course they go with what the "victims" say.
