Man chased 2 of his kin with a machete: Brown

SOUTH OZONE PARK — A 60-year-old man was arraigned last week on charges of assault, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly chasing after two of his female family members armed with a machete, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Mohammad Salim, of Sutter Avenue near 114th Place in South Ozone Park, allegedly chased after a female family member and her sister with a machete, and then struck one of them with the machete on her arms and body, the DA said. The attacks and a subsequent struggle caused lacerations to her left hand and both of her arms that required treatment at a hospital, the DA said.

Salim was released on recognizance and his next court date is May 23, the DA said.
