Fight leads to slashed stomach: Complaint

JAMAICA — A Jamaica man allegedly slashed another man in the stomach following a dispute on a Jamaica street, according to a criminal complaint.

Thomas Benn, 68, of 166-18 120th Ave. in Jamaica, allegedly got into a verbal dispute with another man around 6:57 p.m. May 16 in front of 120-09 167th St. and slashed the victim in the stomach with a knife, the complaint said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he received about seven stitches to close the wound in his stomach, the complaint said.

Benn was arraigned in front of Queens Criminal Court Judge John Zoll on charges of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment and released on his own recognizance, a spokeswoman said.

Benn’s next court date was scheduled for June 23.
