Livery cab driver robbed, hit with gun: Brown

EAST ELMHURST — The NYPD has sought the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with a robbery in East Elmhurst.

At about 3:30 a.m. June 25, two men got into a livery cab at Union Street and 37th Avenue in Flushing and requested that the driver take them to 100th Street and 23rd Avenue, police said.

When they arrived at the location, one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim struggled with the suspects, who struck him numerous times in the head with the firearm, according to police.

They then fled the vehicle without stealing anything, police said.

Police described both of the suspects as 18-year-old male Hispanics with brown eyes and black hair weighing between 170 and 180 pounds. The NYPD has released photographs of the suspects.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-8477 or visit nypdcrimestoppers.com.
