Victim shot for not giving up his bag: Cops

RICHMOND HILL — The NYPD was looking for a suspect in the assault of another man June 30 at 87-52 114th St. in Richmond Hill.

Police said at around 6:30 p.m. that a Hispanic man, described as about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, approached another man and demanded his bag. The man refused to do so and, when the victim tried to get away, the suspect shot him once in the stomach and once in the chest, police said.

The victim, whose name has not been revealed, was taken to Jamaica Hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
