Pit bull attacked man at Oakland Gdns home: Cops

OAKLAND GARDENS — On July 12, police from the 111th Precinct arrested 62-year-old Iamve Tetruashvili on one count of tampering with evidence and one count of obstructing a police officer.

Just before 9:30 a.m. July 12, an unidentified man was walking by a house, at 69-10 225th St. in Oakland Gardens, when he was attacked by a pit bull, causing injuries that required 300 stitches, the police said.

Officer Gary Poggiali of the 111th said sources at the scene described bites so deep they exposed the victim’s bone.

The officer said Tetruashvili, who lives at 690 Ocean Pkwy. in Brooklyn, was arrested for allegedly hiding the animal.
