Motorcyclist dies after driving over median

FOREST HILLS — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night after he drove over a median and struck a Ford van in Forest Hills, police said.

Andres Rodriguez-Mojica, 37, of Miami Beach, Fla., was discovered unconscious by officers who responded to the scene around 7:11 p.m. Saturday near 72nd Road and Union Turnpike in Forest Hills, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Union when he drove over a median and struck a Ford van that was traveling westbound.

Police did not say if the driver of the Ford, only identified as a 29-year-old man, suffered injuries in the accident.

Police said no criminality was suspected in the incident and the investigation was ongoing.
