Hollis man robs victim of chain and wallet: DA

JAMAICA — A Hollis man was facing robbery charges after he allegedly stole a man’s chain and wallet in Jamaica, a spokeswoman for the Queens district attorney said.

Eric Hayward, 24, of 99-15 Farmers Blvd. in Hollis, approached the victim around 5 a.m. July 24 in front of 183-32 Arcade Ave. in Jamaica and said, “Hey, yo, man, empty your pockets” and, “Give me your wallet,” according to the criminal complaint.

Hayward then allegedly ripped off the man’s chain and took his wallet before throwing the wallet into a blue car that pulled up to the scene and got in the back seat, the complaint said.

Hayward was arraigned July 25 on robbery charges before Queens Criminal Court Judge Gene Lopez, who set bail at $20,000, the spokeswoman said.
