Today’s news:

Boro memorial service canceled

On behalf of the Haitian American Veterans Association and Carol Blanc-Damas, beloved mother of the late U.S. Marine Cpl. Leopold Damas, we would like to apologize because on the second anniversary we will not be able to hold a memorial service this year.

But we would like you to remember Cpl. Damas. He was a friendly and talkative young man. He was serving his third tour in Afghanistan.

Leo died at age 26 while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province in Afghanistan. We will never forget him.

On behalf of HAVA and Carol, her beloved son will always remain in our hearts.

Keep us in your prayers. This is submitted with blessing, peace and love on behalf of the family.

Marie Carmel Houanche

Lieutenant Colonel

Vice Chairwoman

Haitian American Veterans Association
