Drunk driver hits family of three in Jamaica: DA

JAMAICA — A South Jamaica man who was allegedly driving drunk hit a family of three standing near their car Sept. 12, according to a criminal complaint from the Queens district attorney’s office.

At around 9 p.m., police officers discovered Kevin Gibbs, 46, of 155-39 116th Road, inside his slightly battered car on 106th St. in Jamaica, the DA said.

The car, stopped between South Road and 107th Avenue, was still running and police said Gibbs appeared intoxicated, the DA said.

Four blocks away, a family told police that a white Chrysler hit them as they were next to their car, the DA said.

The car matched the description of Gibbs’ 2007 model, the complaint said, and he was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and drunk driving, according to the DA.

The family members were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, the DA said.
