State gov’t needs to get its act together

As New York state’s new governor, Andrew Cuomo takes over the running of the state government, let’s extend to him our best congratulations and wishes for nothing but success in his new position.

He is facing many difficulties with the state budget being in such a dire mess, along with massive budget cuts for this year and beyond. The legislators in Albany need to work with Cuomo to come to acceptable, durable and fair agreements regarding all of the economic and budgetary problems that continue to plague New York state.

The people of New York state are fed up with all the nonsense and ballyhoo of this past state Legislature. Now it is time for a new beginning and hard, serious compromises by all so we can get people back to work and state government will once again have the respect of the people.
