OZONE PARK — Authorities said they arrested a thief who was trying to steal hygiene products from an Ozone Park drugstore, the New York Post reported.

Steve Garcia, 35, allegedly walked into the CVS on Liberty Avenue near 97th Street and stole 12 sticks of antiperspirant worth nearly $75 at about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 28, the newspaper reported.

An employee spotted Garcia walking from the store and alerted cops, according to the Post.

Garcia was arrested, but he had to be recaptured after he escaped from his handcuffs, the Post said, adding he was charged with petit larceny, escape and resisting arrest.
