KEW GARDENS — A 22-year-old St. Albans man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday for killing his baby son when he was crying, the Queens district attorney said.

Larry Greene, of 115th Drive, pleaded guilty last month to the 2010 manslaughter of his 7-month-old son, Xiah, Brown said.

Greene was baby-sitting the boy while his mother, Cassandra Nadi, 17, was away and the baby began to cry, according to the DA.

Greene told the baby to “toughen up” and punched him in the chest, at which time he began to stop breathing, the DA said.

He took Xiah to Queens Hospital Center, where he told doctors he dropped the baby, but a medical examiner’s report ruled his death a homicide, Brown said.

Greene was placed in custody a short time later, according to Brown.
