Looks like the recent warm weather stretch is coming to an end.
The city Sanitation Department has issued a snow alert for early Thursday morning.
Sanitation has begun checking to see whether its equipment is ready — loading salt spreaders, attaching plows, preparing tire chains and making plans to bring in extra workers if needed, according to the agency.
In addition, Sanitation is coordinating with the city Office of Emergency Management and the city Department of Transportation on snow clearing protocol, and all city agencies have been notified about the snow alert, which is slated to go into effect at 12:01 a.m.
