BROOKLYN — A Jamaica man was arrested Friday for allegedly sexually abusing a straphanger on the subway, according to investigators.

Stuart Cato, 39, of 161st Street, was charged by police with forcible touching harassment and sexual abuse in the Nov. 30 incident, police said.

On Friday evening, Cato was on an S train at the Franklin Avenue stop when the 24-year-old victim entered and sat across from him on the train, according to investigators.

Cato allegedly began to make obscene gestures at the woman and followed her when she exited the train at the Botanical Garden stop, according to police.

Cato then climbed the stairs to leave the station and forcibly grabbed the victim’s buttocks from behind, investigators said.

The victim not only slapped Cato in the face, but also took a picture of him with her phone before he got away on a subway, police said.
