Flushing man, 77, killed while crossing street

FLUSHING — An elderly man was killed on Valentine’s Day as he was crossing the street near Queens College, police said.

Fan Meng, 77, was crossing Horace Harding Expressway at Kissena Boulevard around 9 p.m. when he was struck by a woman driving a 1993 Toyota that was traveling eastbound on the Expressway, police said.

EMS crews transported Meng, who lived eight blocks from the site of the accident, to New York Hospital of Queens where he was pronounced dead, according to the authorities.

No criminality was suspected in the death and no charges were filed against the driver, police said.
