New Year’s Day accident fatal in Maspeth: Police

MASPETH — Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal New Year’s Day car accident.

Alexis Morillo, 28, of 33-44 96th St. in Corona, was charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated in relation to the Jan. 1 incident, according to the NYPD.

Just after 5 a.m., police responded to an accident between a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant and a 2011 Lincoln on the eastbound Long Island Expressway at the intersection of Maurice Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Officers found a man dead inside the Lincoln, which had come to rest on the white striped section just off the roadway. Morillo, who was driving the Mitsubishi, was arrested at the scene and transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

I don't think its correct that you publicized Alexis Morillo address. Don't you think giving his neighborhood is good enough. Thats some type of privacy he needs. Theres a murder involved here you don't know if the family of the deceased can go look for his family
