Rockaway man dies when car crashes into truck

ROSEDALE — A Rockaway man was killed when the car he was driving rear ended a box truck Sunday, police said.

Joseph Brown, 29, of 51-15 Almeda Ave., was killed while driving a white Nissan Maxima around 4 a.m., according to the NYPD.

Brown was traveling with three passengers southbound on Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard, according to the NYPD.

He was in the middle lane when he hit a white Mitsubishi box truck ahead of him, police said.

EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced Brown dead, according to the NYPD.

The three passengers, along with the driver of the box truck, were all taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and listed in stable condition, police said.

No criminality is suspected, police said.
