Cops arrest teen in $3K burglary of cash and jewelry: NYPD

WHITESTONE — Police nabbed a suspected burglar who allegedly made off with $3,000 in jewelry and cash last month, according to the NYPD.

On Feb. 15 at around 10:30 a.m., a teenager allegedly broke into a house near the corner of 152nd Street and 7th Avenue, police said, but the premises was not empty.

Aurel Tomorri, 19, allegedly kicked in a basement window and grabbed $700 in cash and $2,300 worth of jewelry before fleeing, police said.

According to the NYPD, Tomorri did not get far because police arrested and charged him with burglary and possession of stolen property.
