A woman who was shot in the head and driven to Elmhurst Hospital Center died Sunday morning, the NYPD said.
At 3:43 a.m., police received a call about a 21-year-old woman with a single gunshot wound to the head, according to police.
Stephanie Taveras, of New Jersey, was pronounced dead upon arriving at the medical center, the NYPD said.
The woman, who was not identified pending family notification, was shot near the intersection of Grand Central Parkway and Northern Boulevard and then transported to the hospital by private means, the NYPD said.
