Motorcyclist, 39, loses control and dies: Cops

SOUTH OZONE PARK — A 39-year-old man died after he suffered severe body trauma last weekend while driving a motorcycle, police said.

Police responded to a report of a motorcyclist struck at the intersection of Lefferts and Rockaway boulevards within the 106th Precinct, the NYPD said. Upon the officers’ arrival, the man was lying on the ground with severe trauma and was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s name was being held pending family notification, police said.

Upon further investigation, police said the victim was driving a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle southbound on Lefferts Boulevard when he lost control and struck a 2001 Nissan Altima traveling northbound on the same road.

The driver, a 22-year-old man, remained on scene, police said.

The NYPD said there was no criminality suspected.
