A employee at a Peruvian restaurant was arrested Thursday on charges of killing an Elmhurst woman late Monday night, police said.

Maximiliano Lozado, 34, who lives at Denman Street near Elmhurst Avenue in Elmhurst, allegedly stabbed Luz Paulino, 33, multiple times in a seventh-floor apartment at 40-04 Hampton St. Elmhurst, police said. Paulino died at Elmhurst Hospital Center later that night, police said.

Upon his arrest Lozado was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Neighbors said Paulino and Lozado were a couple and had a child together. Lozado’s name was also on an employee list at La Casa Del Pollo Peruano II, located on Roosevelt Avenue near 82nd Street.

Paulino had roots in the Bronx.
