FLUSHING — A registered sex offender was arrested and charged with touching two young girls at the Flushing branch of the Queens Public Library June 23, the NYPD said.

At about 6:20 p.m., police said a man in his 40s wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap inappropriately touched a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old girl at the library.

The NYPD subsequently released security images of the man, and Saturday cops arrested Joel Grubert, aka Marc Grubert, of Brooklyn.

Grubert was charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

According to the state Division of Criminal Justice Services database, Grubert was charged with possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child in 2004 and was sentenced to two to four years in prison.
