Police are investigating the death of an Asian man who was found behind a building in Astoria early Thursday morning.

Authorities said they discovered the man, who is believed to be in his 20s, in the vicinity of 25-59 Steinway Street after responding to a 911 call that came in at 4:27 a.m. Officers saw the man was unconscious and unresponsive, and EMS workers who came to the scene pronounced him dead, police said.

The city Medical Examiner’s office is investigating the cause of the man’s death, police said.

The NYPD has not yet released the man’s name.
