FLUSHING – Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a four-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the southbound Whitestone Expressway Tuesday morning near Northern Boulevard, according to a spokesman for the FDNY.
One man was taken to New York Hospital Queens in serious but stable condition with a leg injury. following that 6 a.m. crash, fire officials said. The spokesman said it was unclear if the man injured had been riding the motorcycle.
As authorities investigated the crash, traffic on the sounthbound Whitestone Expressway was backed up into the northbound Cross Island Parkway through the morning rush.
