Car kills Hollis man at stock exchange: Cops

MANHATTAN — An elderly Hollis man was killed near Wall Street last Thursday when he was accidentally struck by a private security car, police said.

Sorel Deps-Medina, 70, was near the New York Stock Exchange around 1:30 p.m. when the 2008 Honda began moving forward to allow another vehicle behind it to pass, according to police.

The car accelerated and hit Deps-Medina, of 88-25 202nd St., who was transported in critical condition to Beekman Downtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

The driver stayed at the scene and no criminality was suspected, according to the NYPD.
