A man was stabbed in the abdomen after a dispute near the corner of 97th Place and 42nd Avenue in Elmhurst and taken to Elmhurst Hospital Sunday afternoon, police said. The NYPD said the man was still alive, but

his condition was not known.

Witnesses said around 3 p.m. they saw the victim, described as in his early 20s, run down the street bleeding, followed by a second young man in pursuit. A woman who lived nearby said the second man then turned and ran in the opposite direction as the victim collapsed in the street.

The suspect is outstanding, police said.
